BEIJING,May 22(IPS)-The global economic crisis has helped China and theEuropean Union mend theirrecent rift over Tibet and humanrights, but the two sides remain distrustful ofeach other’sintentions. Beijing complains that the EU’s crowded agenda makesit lose sight of the bigger picture in dealing with China.Brussels for its part,believes China is exploiting the EU’sdivisions and treating the 27-state blocwith‘diplomaticcontempt’on a range of issues from trade to the Dalai Lama.
